English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is being offered in the heart of the 1st and 6th Wards, an area of Allentown where the rate of individuals over the age of 18 without a high school diploma or equivalent is an astounding 47.7% and the rate of individuals over the age of five who reported speaking English “less than very well” is 17.8%.
The lack of a diploma and ability to speak English are insurmountable barriers to obtaining a good paying job. Casa helps people out of poverty by eliminating these barriers to higher paying jobs.
